Improve the mind of your child – with toys!

There’s no point denying it; children love toys. From babies to toddlers to children to teens to big kids, toys can drive us out of our minds with enjoyment and allow us to pleasantly while away the hours without batting an eyelid. And, as well as this, there’s the most important benefit of all; toys can actively improve and enhance the mind of your child. How? Check it out...

Baby toys – let them learn as they grow!

Babies are ultra-keen to learn about the world around them and so any toys which help to stimulate their senses are a big plus. Opt for toys in different textures and colours, as well as music-making toys wherever possible. Interactive toys are perhaps the most important of all, as they help to encourage your baby’s hand-eye coordination skills. Something as simple as toy blocks, for example, can develop motor skills and have your baby more confident in their abilities in no time.

Toddler toys – expanding their knowledge

Toddlers can play with a far greater variety of toys than babies which, in turn, opens them up to far more experiences and learning curves than ever before. Lego, for example, is a new twist on the traditional wooden blocks which older children can appreciate; colours, symmetry, trial and error, consequences and, of course, hand-eye coordination skills will all be tested by this simple toy. Shape sorting toys are also great for toddlers, as it allows them to have fun and learn about shapes, all at the same time!

Toys for children – is it a playroom or a schoolroom?

Children of schooling age – or a little younger – will greatly benefit from toys which teach them about letters, numbers and language skills. There are plenty of toys which do this, some obviously and some more subtly, so it’s easier than ever to get your child to love learning. From alphabet puzzles to hi-tech electronic learning toys (hello Leapfrog!), you’re sure to find just the right educational toy to suit your child and get them having fun while improving their minds, all at once.
